Head of Weightlifting, Hybrid & Academy Coach
Ben has been an avid Olympic Weightlifting athlete and a coach for 5+ years. He discovered his love of lifting and training while in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he not only served but also coached his peers in strength training. Since retiring in 2019, he has been coaching both seasoned athletes and beginners to improve athletic performance, mobility, and physical aptitude. He graduated from the Fanshawe Health and Fitness Promotions program in 2023. Ben has a NCCP Olympic Weightlifting Competition Certification along with an ACE Personal Training Certification.
Ben has an impressive resume. In 2014, he started Powerlifting, and by 2019, he switched to Weightlifting. Since then, he has won several titles and awards, including a second-place finish in the Olympic Weightlifting Ontario Senior Championships in 2022. While competing at a high level, Ben is also the Head Weightlifting Coach of TEAMLDN. Weightlifting, a registered Weightlifting program. He has coached multiple athletes to podium finishes, some even at the provincial level of Olympic Weightlifting. Additionally, Ben is the Head Olympic Weightlifting Coach for TEAMLDN. Academy, where he works on fine-tuning CrossFit athletes’s weightlifting proficiency.
In the future, Ben is looking forward to hosting several seminars and competitions at TEAMLDN. HYBRID to build our community.
